Ghillie Suit Sites

An important step in making your ghillie suit is dyeing the jute or burlap in colors that can match your natural environment. Every ghillie suit should have a base color. This is the color that is put on first, and tied to every side of the netting. The base color should be based on your environment. Here is some good ideas for base colors and the environments they would work well in.

  • Desert Tan
  • Forest Green
  • Snow White
  • Urban Green and gray

Once your have your base color, you need to dye pieces of your burlap or jute, and randomly place them all over the suit. Remember that you wan to use natural colors (green, brown, etc.) as opposed to brighter, less natural colors (red, purple, blue, colors that you wouldn't normally see in a forest or desert or snow ground setting).
